Nutrition and Feeding Services

At Spanish Horse Sales we have had many years hands on experience with all aspects of husbandry and management of these unique horses and understand that nutrition is critical to development, health and performance.

Due to environmental and heredity factors, Spanish horses have different nutritional requirements to horses in northern Europe where rainfall and subsequent forage is generally high in quality and quantity.

As many of our horses are sold into Britain and northern Europe, it is very important that appropriate nutrition for the breed is maintained.  With this in mind we work in collaboration with Primero Equine who have developed a unique, holistic feed which contains all of the nutrients required within a natural, fibre based feed. As ´Total´ horse feed is available throughout Europe, we are able to offer nutritional continuity for all of our horses from the moment they enter our stud, during transport and into their new homes.

All of our clients have reported that their horses arrived in good condition and were able to make an easy, healthy transition into their new environment and lifestyle. Much of which is attributed to the quality and consistency of their nutrition.

As part of our post purchase service, we are pleased to offer free nutritional advice from a qualified equine nutritionist who has specialised for many years in feeding Spanish horses.;
